To build confidence in our beginners while performing in a "LIVE" situation, there are certain things we must teach them deliberately. There are certain "i's" we must dot and "t's" we must cross in order to set them up for success in how they dress, how they enter and exit, how we line them up, how they adjust to the acoustics, and more. So, this is the topic of my newest "QUICK" lesson series!
*You will find a link to a 19-page document that starts with a 50-minute lesson plan aimed at focusing on proper professional performance behavior. For beginning middle school choirs, we must deliberately teach this before our first important performances.
*In this lesson, you will find information on proper performance attire, considerations on how to make sure your singers enter and exit the performance space properly and confidently, fun group activities to reinforce the concepts, common mistakes made in live performances with beginners, tips for building confidence in your singers, consideration of various acoustics and how they impact their singing in a new space.
