Do you know this about my secret past?

I haven’t shared much about this piece of my life with my choral music colleagues.

It was a really important piece of my journey.

I spent about 30 years of my life working with the sport.

I started pursuing my dream of winning a gold medal after I started my teaching career because when I was a child, I wanted to be an Olympic gymnast.

My parents could not afford the lessons.

I found the sport of Aerobic Gymnastics while I was getting my Master of Music Degree at UNCG.  I saw it on ESPN, and I knew I'd love to do it.

It was based on the Jane Fonda era of fitness in this country.

I was a singer/dancer/performer first and foremost.

Aerobics checked all the boxes.

I was making $18,000 a year.

I had no real means to hire coaches and choreographers who were helping people to win.

But I really wanted a gold medal...childhood dream.

So I worked day to day to figure it out.

When I woke up in the morning, it was what I thought about.

When I went to bed at night, it was what I thought about.

I had to overcome a lot of self doubt.

I had to overcome people who said I was too small… Who said I wasn’t strong enough… Who said I needed a better body...but I stayed focused on my goal and after 3 years, we won.

After that incredible moment in my life, and after enormous sacrifice, I helped many other athletes achieve their goals of National and World Titles in the sport as it transitioned from fitness to gymnastics when I choreographed and coached them as they worked to achieve their dreams at the World Aerobic Gymnastics championships.

I became an FIG judge (Federation of International Gymnastics) in the sport and traveled all over the world watching athletes and coaches who were giving everything to achieve in the sport.

It's all on Youtube.  Type Dale Duncan Aerobics.

I created a class on Outschool specifically for athletes aged 11-18 who are focused on their goals.

I want to find children who are self-motivated....internally...Not by Mom.   Not by Dad.

The sport doesn't matter.

If the child wants it.  I'm here for it, and I will help the child figure it out.
